Frequently Asked Questions
What are meta tags?
Meta tags are HTML elements placed in the <head> of a page. They tell search engines and social platforms the title, description, and preview image for a page. The og: (Open Graph) tags are used by Facebook, LinkedIn, and others; Twitter has its own twitter: tags.
What is the ideal title and description length?
Google typically displays up to 60 characters for the title and 155–160 characters for the description before truncating. Keeping within these limits ensures your snippet is not cut off in search results.
Why is the OG image important?
When your page is shared on social media, the OG image is the dominant visual element. A recommended size is 1200×630 pixels. If no og:image is provided, social platforms may pick an arbitrary image from the page or show no image at all.
